iPhone to go Nano?

August 5, 2008

More hot and delicious Apple rumors: is an iPhone Nano finally in the works? The Daily Mail reports that we’ll have an iPhone with a 2.75” screen, multitouch and 4GB/8GB storage capacity by October of this year. The new iPhone will not, however, connect to the internet, and will use T9 for text entry. Here’s my question: is the type of consumer who would buy an iPhone in the first place be willing to throw down $300 for a phone without a browser?

The Eee Box — It’s the IKEA of Desktops

August 4, 2008

What the Mac Mini was for Apple fans the Eee Box is for Linux users — a stylish, bare bones desktop with a small footprint and an even smaller price tag. The Eee PC will feel right at home in a college dorm, on the kitchen counter, or on the desk of users who want to run both Windows and Linux without dual-booting. With a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, 2 GBs of RAM, 4 USB ports, 802.11n and Bluetooth, the casual user should have no problem justifying its $300 price tag. Those of us who use a lot of media, however, will want to hold out for a model with an optical drive.

August 4, 2008

Lenovo you temptress! Here’s a quick shot of three sexy new subnotebooks, purported to be prototypes of a new line from Lenovo starting at $400. As Liliputing points out, these sleek and slender notebooks look like everything Lenovo laptops generally aren’t — colorful, high form and super thin. Plus, with a rumored 160GB hard drive, you’ll have enough storage for all your music and a few movies when you’re on the road.
